As I type this, I am sitting in a Dunkin Donuts (yucky) waiting for my bus back to my city where I live. I just got down presenting on how pictures can be used as a listening tool, a chapter from my book.
There were a lot of people there for such a small conference, about 350 people. I love going to conferences as it gives people a chance to share something they have in common. Regardless of our backgrounds, ESL teachers tend to gather together and just talk shop. Have you found this to be true in the conferences you attend?
I sit and talk shop with my cohosts on ESL teacher talk, bot ESL teaching and web stuff. When I gather with other teachers just for dinner or drinks we generally have a bit to say about work.
I'd love to attend some conferences but just haven't had the time.
So you've never been? Wow, I would most definitely recommend going to one. There is a lot of good information out there. I've found myself not wanting to go, but, when I do, I am glad I did.
