Also it's a good idea to make some flyers that you can put up in some shops or local boards like in the university as some people suggested, so that many people can see them. I've seen a lot of them on traffic poles but I think that's probably illegal in most western countries

It depends on who you want to teach. You can put some flyers in the local schools if you want to teach kids or the local business center if you want to teach adults. Basically put flyers everywhere!

Also check the net. I'm sure there is some French website in English looking for English teachers. I got a private through the Korean site and in the interests of safety you can just give out your email address (or make another one in my case) in case your boss or the police find out
