Just wanted to thank everyone who replied to this post. I gave the student a trial lesson a week ago and she enjoyed herself a lot. She's very much looking forward to our first lesson next week....

well she said her previous teacher just gave her a copy of the lesson for the day although I did mention to her that I use a textbook and the conversation can flow from there. I have other 1-2-1...
