Default ESL Teacher Talk: Show Ideas & Guests

Mark and I have a few more show ideas in the works but if anyone has a topic you'd like to hear discussed, please post it here and if we can talk about it, we will!

Also, we are always looking for guests to be on the show. You only need Skype and that's free. So if you would like to be on a show to talk about life and work in your country or a specific topic that relates to teaching or living abroad or have a Game of the Week idea, please contact either Mark or myself and we'll get back to you.

Thanks
Eric

Great idea!

I look forward to hearing your show.

Please add me to your list of potential guests. I would like to discuss best practices in conversation classes and common pitfalls. I'd also be interested in hearing a show about using various technologies in the classroom. For instance, videotaping student presentations, posting them to a website, and having self and peer evaluations has been quite helpful - and popular - among students. Further, asking students to transcribe their own presentations - just two or three minutes - gives them practical insights into their strengths and weaknesses. It also tends to reduce the sometimes considerable gap between student self-perception, audience perception, and instructor evaluation.

Eric - If you'd like to come on the show, we'd be glad to have you. We won't be recording any new shows until Jan. but ...

We use Skype to do the show and we usually do it on Thurs. nights but other days are possible. Email and we'll set a time to do it.

Eric - Thanks!

That also gives me enough time to acquire and master Skype.

I have an interview this Thursday night! I'm getting excited!

I too am a newbie of the Skype community. However, I've played around with it a little and it seems extremely easy.
