Default Bringing cats

Long shot and I am also going to be looking at some other boards but has anyone here brought cats over from the US or Canada or elsewhere or do any of you know. Do most rural apartments/living quarters allow cats? Or as cats pretty much verbotten everywhere you go?

Our biggest hurdle right now, mentally at least, is our cats. We are not people who can just give them up so we are trying to see if most places accept pets or not in Japan. We aren't looking to live in Tokyo and honestly, one of the southern islands is much more appealing. So yeah, there it is. We love our cats
