It is easy. When you check in...just ask if it would be possible to get an upgrade. If you are well dressed and if you check in easy...you might be able to get the upgrade. Be careful though cause the last time I did that it got me on standby for first class...even though I had had a 100% seat in economy. I was a bit nervous to say the least.
