Default Looking for affordable accomidation on Pattaya beach.

I wondering what the prices for accomidation on Pattaya beach are like. Assuming you're clever enought to avoid the taxi scams.

I was in Thailand over the holidays but I didn't go to Pattaya - I met some people who did and they were not too impressed. Mostly old men and ladyboys from what I understand. I stayed most of the time on Ko Samui on the eastern side. There are some noce little towns on the north side of the island. I paid 500 baht a night for nice bungalow with hot water and a fan right on the beach. Prices were very good. I also stayed in Patong beach and accomodation was about 4 times as expensive.

Kho Samui is a good place to chill out. Lots of nice outdoor beer bars. I think you paid too much in Patong. Did the taxi driver help you find your room. Well he got his cut out of the deal. You would have paid half that if you stayed on Karon beach which is the next door beach. If you stayed on Koran you could still take a Jeepney cab to Patong every night and enjoy the nightlife on Bangla road. Also there are some nice beer bars near the beach known as Karon center

That rather depends on the type of accomodatioin that you are looking for. A small single room will set you back a few thousand a month.
