Today another beginner level student amazed me during break time. Student: "Teacher! John, Sally, make fun of." Me: "What?" Student: "John say Sally-Jelly". Me: (hmmm, that is making fun of, so qualifies as correct usage)
Well, tell John that's not funny!
I never checked his pencil case, but I'm quite convinced that to use a 3 word verb like "make fun of" he needed some kind of supplementary help. If there were a study pen for the Let's Go books I'm teaching, I'd get 'em.
