There are loads of great ideas posted all over this site. Just pick a few threads and read on.
Also, a lot of the posters here have their own sites with even more information. Check out any of the blue links to the left. Those are other members websites.
If you have any specific questions about how to teach something or want ideas for particular vocab or language just ask.
Happy teaching,

| | Re: hello everyone You could also check out http://www.pamseslclassroom.com for songs, rhymes, finger rhymes and singing games. You can listen to the songs and download lots for free.
There are also song packages with an mp3 and the lesson plans, worksheets and flashcards that go with the song. All you need for a complete lesson and you can download it immediately to your computer. You can burn the song onto a cd and print off the worksheets and flashcards etc. The lyric sheet and instructions for games and finger rhymes is also included.
There are also lots of threads dealing with activities for younger students here on ESLhq so you will find lots of great ideas and resources.
Also the people are great.

| | Re: hello everyone I also put a great running game for your age group on the Games and Activites forum Does anyone know good games for outside or in the gym?
You might want to try it with your kids.
'
Also there is info on Show and Tell on that forum Show and Tell gets them talking
Just a few more ideas for you. Now you will be facing the problem lots of teachers have and that is not enough time to do all the fun stuff you want to do with your kids.

| | Re: hello everyone Na then Meggy,
I had fun with this age group making paper hats, followed by hat competition (mad-hatter s tea party?).Also, give one kid an animal flashcard, he has to describe the animal, the other s ask questions and guess (is it big?Can it fly?).Finally, "King or Queen Gobbleitall" - choose one child as king or queen, who eats anything at all - monkeys, hamburgers, cars....The others have to suggest food to bring to the feast, if it starts with the same letter as the king s name, they can come.
I grew up in Yorkshire, I remember Whitby and R.H.Bay, used to go over on my 250 Suzuki as a teenager - long time ago now!
I m in Mexico, but am returning to Europe to teach in Catalunya - yet another language to learn! Can you speak Basque??? |
