I think the average wage in China would be around 5,000rmb. bear in mind that you can live on almost nothing. I taught in Shanghai, which is a pretty expensive city, but you can still live pretty...

Christmas in China is just another day for most. Western New Year is barely even noticed.... Last year in Shanghai there were about 10 fireworks. The Chinese New Year gets about 10 DAYS worth of...

I think having students who don't have the ability is as frustrating as kids who don't want to learn..... but then again it's usually the kids who don't have the ability are the ones who don't want...

I guess their thinking is 'a little is better than nothing'. One of the 15 min classes that I used to do felt like forever. Teaching these kids was like trying to get blood from stone.

Try and find activities where the parents are helping/interacting with their kids. Maybe you could try some craft activities?

I always aim to get myself out of the picture as soon as I can to get the sts interacting comfortably with each and the language. There are definitely plenty of st-st drills you can do. I use drills...

I used a CD/book set called 'FAB Red'. The CD is fantastic. The only thing is, it's produced by SHANE so it may be difficult to buy...
