Other than the usual taboo and sharades, check out these two party games that already exist:

Re: What is "You know" in many sentence?

Susan53 has a great explanation.

Re: Do you support ESL co-teaching? What type?

Oh man, I can only imagine what the owner of my school would say if I told him I was going to start putting two of my teacher sin the class at the same time.

"No big deal, let's just...

Re: AH! so many beginner students!

I definitely agree with Bread_Baker that teaching the body parts is the first step.

"Simon Says" is my favourite game for practicing body vocabulary. The kids love it, and it gives them a chance...

Re: AH! so many beginner students!

Re: How do you teach the difference between "make" and "do"?

As Mark said, MAKE is all about creation. MAKE a cake for example.

I also like to point out that DO often replaces other verbs.

Do my homework...

Re: AH! so many beginner students!

Is it that the ones in the back are...

Re: students who don't want to be there

What about trying to find out what interests them, and using that to your advantage.

Perhaps the usual food, movies, sports conversations aren't working because they have done that all before.

Find...

Re: Turn your class into a video game!

I think it would work even better for older students.

With the younger students you would have to spend more time making the actual process more intriguing, where older students would simply study...

Re: Handling vocabulary

As for higher level students I don't normally teach vocabulary as a planned lesson. However, it does come up all the time when we are reading. It goes like this:

1. They see the new word
2. I...

Re: alteration

Yes, what I wrote is informal. Most of the different greetings are informal because for a formal greeting there aren't many variations:

Hello. How are you?
Hi, nice to meet you.
Good morning
Good...

I have got a dog. Slang, but common
I've got a dog. Slang, but common
